REPORTING WITH FIXI
Fixi helps you report issues such as broken streetlights, overflowing trash bins, or loose pavement tiles. With Fixi, you can easily report these via Fixi.nl or our app for Android or iPhone and iPad. Afterwards, you'll be kept informed of the progress with status updates via email or notifications in the app.
Each Fixi report goes through 3 steps:
- Take a photo of the problem and describe your report.
- The municipality processes your report.
- You receive automatic status updates about the handling.
Frequently asked questions About Fixi
MAKING A REPORT
Go to www.fixi.nl or download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- OPTIONAL: Take a photo of the report or add a photo from your photo library.
- Select the location of the report or enter the address.
- Describe the problem.
- Choose a category.
- Fill in your details to stay informed about the status of your report.
- Submit your report to the municipality.
The municipality will now start handling your report. In many cases, your report will be shown on the public map in Fixi (without your personal details), so that neighbours are aware of your report. This will not happen if you manually deactivated it when creating the report or for some categories, such as nuisance and enforcement.
With Fixi, you can choose how you want to report to your municipality. Prefer to call the municipality because computers aren't your thing or because you prefer to personally explain the situation? No problem! The municipality's customer service representative will accept your report and ensure it reaches the right person.
When creating a report, you're asked to leave an email address or phone number. Your phone number can be useful for the municipality if there are additional questions about the report. You'll automatically be kept informed of the progress of your report via email. This saves the municipality a lot of time, allowing them to spend more time resolving reports.
In some municipalities, it's also possible to report anonymously. When processing your data, we naturally comply with the GDPR. You can find more information about this in our privacy statement.
In the app, you can upload a maximum of 5 photos at a time. Via the website, you can upload unlimited photos, with a maximum size of 20MB per photo.
Approximately 90 municipalities in the Netherlands use Fixi for tracking and handling reports. These can be found on our interactive map.
You can also make a report in municipalities not listed on our map. The report will be forwarded to the municipality, but you won't receive the feedback you would in a Fixi municipality.

You can also add photos to your open reports. Moreover, with a Fixi account, you can respond to reports from others without having to fill in your details each time.

Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the home screen in the app or on your name in the top right corner on the Fixi website.
No, it's possible to make Fixi reports without an account. However, an account offers several advantages. You don't have to fill in your details each time, and you can see an overview of all the reports you've made.
HANDLING OF REPORTS
If you provided your email address when making the report, you'll receive status updates by email. These emails also contain a 'View report' button, allowing you to check the current status of your report.
If you have a Fixi account, you can see the current status under 'My reports'.
If you didn't provide an email address but your report is on the public map, you can search for your report here and check the status.
Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that a report remains in a certain status for a long time. This could be because the municipality needs to order parts to handle your report. For more information, you can contact the municipality; they are responsible for the status of the report. The easiest way to do this is to respond to the report you made.
This is only possible if you made your report while logged in with a Fixi account. Click on the report and then (in the app) tap on the three dots in the top right corner, where you'll find 'add photo'.
REPORTS PUBLIC/PRIVATE
If you made the report with a Fixi account, you can search for your report and check 'Would you like to remove the report from the map?'.
If you made your report without a Fixi account, you can leave a comment on the report asking to remove it from the public map, or you can call the municipality to make this request. Make sure to have your report number handy.
No, only you and the municipality can see the reporter's details. Other users only see the description and status of the report. The municipality may use your details to contact you for additional questions.
Our software automatically filters personal data, such as addresses and phone numbers, from your report. These details are only visible to the reporter and the municipality. However, we advise against including privacy-sensitive data in the description or photos of your report.
If a report contains privacy-sensitive data, it's best to contact the municipality. They can remove the data from the report or take the report off the public map.
Fixi automatically alerts you to similar reports in the vicinity when you make a report. This way, as a reporter, you're immediately informed of existing reports, including their status. This also prevents the municipality from receiving duplicate reports from different residents.
Would you like to provide additional information about a report from a neighbor? With a Fixi account, you can respond to a report in your neighborhood. This way, you help the community
DELETING AND MODIFYING REPORTS
Your report remains on the public map for two weeks after it has been handled. This allows neighbors to see which issues in the area have been resolved. After this period, the report remains visible in your Fixi account and for the municipality.
Old reports generally have the status 'handled' or 'rejected'. Use the filter in 'My reports' to display a list of active reports. This way, old reports will no longer be shown. Do you want to completely delete an old report? Contact the municipality for this.
If you made the report while logged in with a Fixi account, you can add photos to the report or remove the report from the public map. For other changes, you can contact the municipality where you made the report.
