Decos Software Engineering B.V. (hereinafter: Decos), as a software supplier, offers various services intended for (semi)governments, business services, education and the healthcare sector. This privacy and cookie statement applies to the following websites:

We indicate for each website what personal data we process and what we do with it. Please note: in the context of the services we offer, we may also qualify as a data processor. This privacy and cookie statement only applies to processing that we perform in the role of data controller. Our privacy and cookie statement in brief

Your privacy is of great importance to us. We therefore adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that we:

  • Clearly define our purposes before we process your personal data, through this privacy and cookie statement.
  • Store as little personal data as possible and only the data needed for our purposes.
  • Request explicit permission for the processing of your personal data, if permission is required.
  • Take necessary security measures to protect your personal data. We also impose these obligations on parties who process personal data for us.
  • Respect your rights, such as the right to access, correct or delete your personal data processed with us.

For what purposes do we use your personal data?

We obtain various personal data from you. For each purpose, we indicate what data we obtain from you, for what purpose we process it and for how long it will be stored. When may we share your personal data with third parties?

Decos only shares your data with third parties when permitted under current legislation. We may provide your personal data to third parties because:

  • we have engaged them to process certain data;
  • we have a legal basis for doing so;
  • we are required to do so by law (for example, if the police demand it in the case of suspected crime).

The parties that process personal data on our or your behalf are:

  • IT suppliers and service providers
  • Hosting parties
  • Cookie service providers
  • Payment service providers and collection agencies
  • Mail order companies
  • Government agencies (including the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, municipalities)

Decos may further share your personal data with data controllers that are part of the Decos group of companies, based on a legitimate interest for internal administrative purposes within the group, or if it is necessary to execute the agreement with you. This means that your personal data may be accessible to employees of other entities within Decos. The employees of these entities will only have access to your personal data to the extent necessary for their role. Naturally, all employees handle your data with care, and other entities will not use the personal data for other purposes without a legal basis.

Some of our suppliers are located outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). In that case, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your privacy.

This privacy and cookie statement applies exclusively to Decos services. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of other websites that are accessible via a link on our websites.

On our website we use social media buttons, which redirect you to the relevant social media platforms. This gives you the option to follow us and share content within the network. On our website we use our own and third-party cookies. Cookies are information files that can be automatically stored on or read from the visitor's device (such as PC, tablet or smartphone) when visiting a website. This is done through the web browser on the device.

How will your personal data be secured?

Security of personal data is of great importance to us. We therefore take appropriate technical and organizational measures with respect to the personal data processing to be performed, against loss or against any form of unlawful processing (such as unauthorized access, impairment, modification or disclosure of the personal data). We constantly adapt security and pay close attention to what could go wrong.

 

What privacy rights do you have?

  • Right of access: you have the right to inspect the personal data we process about you.
  • Right to rectification: you have the right to correct or supplement the personal data we process about you if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to object: you can object to the processing of your personal data, including direct marketing.
  • Right of deletion: you can request us to delete your personal data.
  • Right to withdraw your consent: if you have given us consent to process personal data, you may withdraw this consent at any time.
  • Right to data portability: if it is technically possible, you have the right to have the personal data we process about you transferred to a third party.
  • Right to restrict processing: in some cases, you can request us to restrict (temporarily or otherwise) the processing of your personal data.

With your request, we may ask you to identify yourself. We request information for this purpose to ensure that you are the correct person to whom the personal data belongs.

In principle, we will comply with your request within one month. However, this period may be extended for reasons related to specific privacy rights or the complexity of the request. If we extend this deadline, we will inform you in a timely manner.

When our services change, we naturally need to update the privacy and cookie statement as well. So always pay attention to the date at the top of this document and regularly check for new versions.

 

Submit questions or complaints

If you have any questions or would like to submit a complaint about the use of your personal data, you can send an e-mail to security@decos.com. We will address each question and complaint internally and communicate this with you. If you feel we are not helping you adequately, you have the right to submit a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority. This is called Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Personal Data Authority).
